About Us
Who we are
A watershed group is a locally organized group established to assess the condition of the watershed and build a plan to implement restoration and protection activities within the watershed.
Goals
The Twin Creek Watershed Group works to preserve and enhance the natural system functions of the Twin Creek watershed for future generations. The group works by inspiring participation to collaborate, educate, and proactively implement projects that benefit and steward the watershed.
Ohio Watershed Coordinator Grant Program
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Soil and Water Conservation established the Ohio Watershed Coordinator Grant Program in 2000. The program funded watershed coordinator positions throughout the state starting in January 2000, and in 2006 supports 29 coordinators. This program supports the Twin Creek Watershed Coordinator.
How you can participate
A citizen based watershed quality monitoring and stewardship will ensure long-term local management and engagement of the watershed. A volunteer monitoring program often leads participants to a more personal connection with their local natural environment, and participation in restoration efforts is an effective way to engage stakeholders in their community. You can start by participating in the monthly Twin Creek volunteer monitoring program!
